My portfolio clips

Well! My life has been through so much in a year but I am finally back and ready to finish out my college years and get back into blogging (I hope you didn't miss me too much). I've decided that since I'm about to graduate (at the end of the summer) I want to change the look of my blog and make it more employer friendly. Don't worry I'll still have outfit posts and still give you my thoughts on all things fashion but I am also going to start putting up some of the articles that I write that have been published as well as keep you guys up to date on what is going on in my life job and schoolwise.

I guess first things first I want to put up some links to some articles that I wrote in the past year or so.

1.  This is a story that I did about the Mandarin Adoption Center for the Florida Times-Union. I talked about how the economy is affecting animal adoptions and what they are doing to combat this. To read the entire story click here

2.This is another story that I wrote for the Florida Times-Union website. It is also about how animals are affected by the economy and how many are being abandoned (and yes those are my puppies in the pic). To read more of this article click here.

3. Last semester I took a class called Applied Journalism. It was honestly one of the best classes I ever took if not the best! And one of the projects we did was called the Hope Fund, and our class joined up with the Florida Times-Union and HandsOn Jacksonville, a volunteer organization, and our class wrote stories for the Florida Times-Union about families that needed either money or some type of support and we helped raise money for the families through writing these stories. My teacher approached me during this time and asked if I would write the first story that would run in the TU (it was a huge honor) and of course I agreed. For this article I got the chance to interview the sweetest lady about her struggles with a disability and how our organization helped her last year. To read more about her struggles and how she overcame them click here.

4. I also was able to interview another family for the Hope Fund, along with another guy from my class. We got to talk to a family of refugees from Africa about how they finally got the chance to come here and what it was like living there. One of the coolest things was that they didn't speak any English so we had to have a translator. So much fun! To read this story click here.

5. In my free time I am also writing for a website called examiner.com (if you've never been ther then definitely check it out). I am the Jacksonville Budget Fashion Examiner, which means that I write alot of articles about how to dress like your favorite celebrity on a budget or I give you the trends and how to wear them. Click here to look at some of my articles, I think you'll really enjoy them!

Well I think that's a good start, I have tons more clips but I'll leave you with that, if you have any questions, feel free to drop me a line!
