Crazy Beautiful!!

Well I finally got my jacket in the mail and now I can't stop wearing it! Lucky for me its been freezing lately so i've had plenty of opportunities to wear it. I've also added a few other things to my wardrobe that I'm currently obsessing over.

I thought the wording would come out but it didn't so I'll explain. The first two are my new black booties that I got. I love them!! The middle pic is of course my new black faux leather jacket that I now wear everywhere. And the last two are pics of a shirt that I made a couple of days ago. The front says "Rock the Vote" and the back says "There's only one November!" I'm crazy about it!! I wanted to make a shirt that shows that I care about the upcoming election (is anyone else having a really hard time deciding on who to vote for?)

Anyway, here are some of my outfits this week. Alot of them used either the booties or the jacket. (I told you I'm crazy about them :)
This one didn't use either of the pieces but I liked it because the necklace I'm wearing was made my grandmother who died two years ago. It's really cute even though you can't see it in the picture. I really don't think I like this pic because it makes me look stocky. Like a football player lol.
I found this sweater at this store called Bealls for like 5 dollars and I love it because it looks like a sweater a grandfather would wear! It's probably my favorite sweater that I own. To counter out the old personish feel of the sweater I decided to pair it with heels and give it more of a girly feel instead. (If you look closely you can see my puppy behind me in the first pic. haha he loves the camera!)

This one I'm wearing the booties with a polka dot shirt and pink clutch. I actually found that clutch at a thrift store for really cheap! And it's great cuz its huge so I can fit everything in it!

This is my leather jacket. Isn't it the cutest?! It looks great with everything too. Whether its skinnies or dresses or wide leg jeans.

I wore this to church when I woke up and it was really cold out. Oh and guess what?! I got this dress at Charlotte Russe for 99 cents!! I practically skipped to the register I was so happy. Its kind of hard to see in the pic but its actually a black and gray checkered dress. And of course I paired it with my black booties.

I'll be back with more things to blog about soon but I better write this paper that I've been procrastinating on.

Waiting on the world to change...

Okay well it may not be the world I'm waiting on but have you ever just been sick and tired and waiting? I know I have! So I've compiled a list of the top 10 things I hate waiting for.
I HATE...
10. Waiting for...my magazine subscriptions to come in the mail. I get them a couple of weeks early but I still find myself thinking after I just received one in the mail and finished it all within the hour "I wonder when the next one will be here?" Does anyone else think that as well? That is one reason why I hate waiting.

9. Waiting to... get a test back. You know when you think you do really good on a test but you're not sure if the tescher will agree so your hoping and praying that you'll get the test back soon so you can check. Or the other way around you take a test and think you did horrific bad but there's that chance prayer that you may not have failed so your waiting to see what your grades going to be. Yeah, I hate that. I just want to know!

8. Waiting to...go on vacation. I love any chance I can to get out of town and go on vacay. So whenever my family tells me we are going on vacation I start planning what we're going to do down to the outfits I will wear when we do it (who am I kidding my outfits are the first thing I think about). But then I hear that we're not leaving for another two weeks. Why do that to me? I always tell them to tell me two a day before we leave, just because I don't like waiting.

7. Waiting for...Fashion Week in New York. The best thing to happen since sliced bread skinnies came back into style and I have to wait for it to come every year. Why? I mean I know that designers need time to prepare their clothes but the waiting is torture!

6. Waiting at...restaurants. Not the waiters and waitresses because I have yet to have truly sucky service. But I mean waiting for people to show up at restaurants. I went out to eat the other night for a friends birthday and we waited probably 30 minutes for one of his friends to show up before we ordered. I nearly chewed my hand off I was so hungry!
5. Waiting for...next weeks shows to come on. I am obsessed with Gossip Girl and all the other CW shows (to see what shows I tune in to click here) but when they show next week's shows I already want to see them, and then I have to wait forever a whole week to see them!

4. Waiting for...payday. In the words of Rachel Zoe, I only work to support my shopping habit so waiting to get that paycheck so that I can buy some more clothes is awful!

3. Waiting for...the weekend. I sometimes like school but there is nothing like the weekend. Having nothing to do is the best feeling in the world, but waiting all week 5 days to get there just sometimes doesn't seem worth it.

2. Waiting for...movies to come out. You just saw the preview for the best movie but its not coming out for another year. I hate that! My bestie and I are waiting for HSM3 to come out so we can go see it(yes I know that's lame but I love Zanessa) and the waiting is torture.

1. And lastly waiting for...online clothes. I just ordered a jacket online and I have to wait 3-5 business days. It sucks!

So what do you think? Do you hate these things too? I guess all of these things really have a happy ending so I should just wait and be thankful huh?

I finally got it!!!!

So the day finally came! My plan with Sprint ended and I got the new Sidekick! I love it and in fact I am writing my post from my phone.
So in honor of my new phone I'm going to do something different. I'm going to show a week's worth of outfits that I wore and what inspired me to wear them.
First:

Now, before I begin telling about this outfit let me explain. I went through this phase where I was obsessed with boots, like deeply obsessed, so now I have tons of pairs of boots that I never wear (I mean why should I when I live in Florida). But on this particular morning I woke up and it was raining so I thought I can finally wear my boots! So I threw on these black ones and everything else just fell into place. place.

Another funny story, I was at JcPenney the other day and I saw this skirt and at first I thought it was cute but then I saw the price tag it was $2.00! I grabbed it up and raced to the register and now I wear it all the time. It especially looks cute when worn as a high waisted bubble skirt with a vintage t-shirt. Looking back on this outfit I'm not sure if I love it but it's okay.

This outfit I had to get two shots because I wanted to show the cuteness of the shoes, they're black booties! I saw them and immediately loved them. I wear them all the time to work (not really to school though because heels on my campus is not realistic). I also love the dress it's a sweater dress and really comfortable.

This picture is kind of funny because actually the pants are blue jeans and the vest is supposed to be black but the picture makes them look backwards. I also had a scarf around my neck (which I stole borrowed from my mom) because I woke up and it was FREEZING! But then it warmed up to the 70's. I also showed my hair for this picture because I loved how it looked that day (the pic doesn't really show how cute it was). I cut my hair right before the fall semester and I'm still trying to get used to it so when I have a good hair style I get really excited. I mean it looks good down but not really up.

It's still a little too warm to be wearing this coat but it's really cute, it's like a plaid fabric and it fits really well and again I'm wearing my favorite booties. I really don't like this picture because I feel like I look like a fat cow. And I'm usually not one of those girls who complains about her weight just so others will say she looks good but in this instance I really think I look fat.

I wore this outfit to work this week and I usually don't dress up much for work because I'm just a secretary but every now and then I like to dress the part. I really like this purse, it's a Kathy Von Zeeland that my aunt bought for me and I have definitely overworn it.

So what do you think? Do you like the outfits, is there something you would do differently? Let me know!

Why do these things always happen to me????

This semester as a way to save money I decided to buy my college textbook online (it was about $50 cheaper) but i opened it last night to read the next chapter (which we have a quiz on today)and it tells me that i need to update the system but when i go to the update page and push update it just keeps opening a new update page!!! It's so frustrating I want to throw my computer against the wall, so i just filed a customer service report (which will take years days but it still means i'm going to flunk this quiz, argh :( Anyway, I just needed a moment to vent (moment) okay, moving on.

So I read recently that Channing Tatum (sigh) proposed to Jenna Dewan last week (his costar from Step Up), and although I'm sad because I always secretly dreamed that he'd marry me one day I'm happy for them. But it got me wondering about marriage, particularly mine. Right now I'm single, in fact there really is no one in my life that I would even consider dating. It's really sad I have tons of boy guy friends (but you know how that goes) I would never date them. I'm sure it's probably for the best though because in order for me to even consider marriage they have to be able to support my fashion addictions haha!!

Now on to happier topics! Although I dread the fall becuase of the return of school there is a bright side (isn't there always). With the fall semester comes the start of new fall shows. I love TV series' especially ones about high school and college. And the fall lineups seems to be filled with them. Here is a look at what I'll be taping this fall:
Monday:

8 pm-Gossip Girl
9 pm- One Tree Hill (I've faithfully watched this show since the first episode and it gets better every season, if you haven't seen it you really should jump on the bandwagon)
10pm-The Hills (Another show I've watched since the beginning and seriously that is just way too much drama to be someone's real life)

Tuesday

8 pm-Secret Life of the American Teenager, but since that just ended last week I'm picking up Lincoln Heights in exchange
Also at 8 is 90210 on the CW so I usually watch one and tape the other or tape both in different rooms.
Also:

9 pm-Greek
Also at 9 Privileged- it seems really cheesy but i might watch to see how it progresses
10pm-The Rachel Zoe Project!!!!

This is what I have so far but I'll let you know if I pick up any others. What do you watch? If you have any suggestions let me know!

Rachel Zoe + Marc Jacobs=Flutterbygirl's Happiness

So...did anyone see the first episode of The Rachel Zoe Project. Well, I did and I loved it! I mean how fun would it be to get paid tons of money to shop for other people?! And she's so funny! I love the way she says "I die!" every time she sees something she loves. And her assistants are hilarious. Brad is so quirky and he dresses amazing, I seriously want that white Ralph Lauren sweater he wore on the first episode. And Taylor is the polar opposite of Brad but she's got amazing style too, and of course it goes without saying that I want every outfit that Rachel wears. If you haven't seen the first episode keep checking Bravo it comes on all the time and tune in on Tuesdays at 10 to see the new ones!

Now on to Marc Jacobs. His shows were, of course, amazing but I have to say I enjoyed the Marc by Marc Jacobs show a little more than the Marc Jacobs one. I guess because it is geared more toward the younger crowd.I wonder when I will make the change and start seeing more mature clothes as more fashionable? ...Oh sorry, I digress. Anyway, he always manages to do something fun and entertaining yet still make it fashionable. Here are some of my fav's from the event

Well I guess I should get back to work.

NY Fashion Week!!!!

Yes, I know its been forever but if you knew the amount of stress I am under in school you would be sympathizing with me, not blaming me. I really should be doing homework right now but I had to let everyone know the great news...Its finally Fashion Week in New York!!!! I know I am so excited! I have been checking Style.com every day checking out all the new styles for the RTW Spring 09 collections and let me just say that they are amazing! Here are a few of my favorites.

1. Rock and Republic
2.Gap
3.Gap
4.Daughters by Obedient Sons
5. Rock and Republic

Of course I am still waiting for the most anticipated show for me Marc Jacobs (sigh). I can't wait to see what he has in store this time around.

Going to fashion week is one of my dreams and I can't wait to finish school so that I can get a job as a fashion magazine editor and get to go to all the shows and get to write about them. I'm taking 3 journalism classes right now and they all require so much reading and writing but since it's something I love to do I really don't mind.

So, I love to look at different bloggers sites and get inspiration. I especially love frugal-fashionista. I love that they show you how to take a celebrity style and make it affordable for you so i was thinking about taking a celebrity or runway style and making it my own and then posting the pics on here. What do you think is that a good idea? Maybe first I should get a camera huh? Oh well, I guess I better at least do some homework.

These are a few of my favorite things...

Maybe its just because I've just started this blog but I find myself spending unreasonable amounts of my day thinking of what I'm going to put on here. It seems that whenever something happens to me my first or second thought is this will be great for my blog, how funny is that?

So...I'm not sure how I want to do this but I wanted to do like my 10 favorite things once a week. But for today I think I'm going to do my favorite things overall just so you can kind of get to know me better, so here they are.

A few of my favorite things:

1. Favorite Actress: This is really easy for me, of course it's...Rachel Bilson. I think she is a really amazing actress and I admire her even more because she has such great fashion sense. She definitely is the inspiration behind alot of my outfits but I try not to copy them completely because I think it is very important to develop your own stlye. Yeah it's great to have a celebrity muse but their style should be incorporated into yours not taken over 100%. If you don't already love her Rachel Bilson is definitely someone to watch.

2. Favorite Actor: This may sound weird and I'm not exactly sure if he's my favorite but I really like...Adam Brody. I think he is hilarious and I loved him in The O.C. (of course it didn't hurt that he dated Rachel Bilson). I think the thing I like most about him is how quirky he is, he made being geeky cool and that's why I love like him so much.He also has great fashion for a guy, another thing that drew me to him, alot of celebrity guys are too afraid to try things because they think it looks like they care too much but I love that he gives his outfits some thought.

P.S. Weren't they so cute together?!

3. Favorite Song: this changes pretty much every time a new song comes out but right now I think it would have to be Jonas Brothers "Burning Up." If you haven't heard this song (and I can't see how you haven't) you have to go listen now. Everytime I hear it I want to get up and dance around my room. It has such great energy and the video is hilarious! Here it is for all those who haven't seen it yet (shame on you).

4. Favorite Fashion Trend: Once again, this was really hard to choose. It's like telling a mom to choose her favorite child! But I guess if I had to choose it would be...mini dresses! I love them! Since I'm only 5'3ish it's hard for me to find looks that make me appear taller but a mini dress definitely does the trick. And with summer here (in Florida) I need to be cool at any cost. Another thing I love about them is that it's the perfect outfit. All you really need is the dress some accesories and shoes and your set!

5. Favorite Movie: This movie is definitely going way back but from the moment I saw it I loved it...The Notebook. It made me laugh, it made me cry and I still loved it! Who didn't root for Noah and Allie? And by the way did anyone else think that the outfits that Rachel McAdams wore in that movie were awesome?! I thought it was well done and overall a really good movie.

6. Favorite guy singer: I actually have three favorite guy singers and they go by the name...Jonas Brothers. You may be laughing right now saying why is this college age girl's favorite group the Jonas Brothers? But let me explain, first of all I like them because I love their energy. Every song they have is so upbeat that I can't help but love it. And second they have great style. Who doesn't love a guy that takes risks? And they are definitely known for their risk taking. Just look at the pics and see. The Jonas Brothers are going to get big fast just wait and see.

7. Favorite girl singer: Here's another weird one I would have to say...Taylor Swift. I know she's country but she hasn't made a song that I didn't like. I can totally relate to her lyrics and she has a great personality. She's definitely someone to look out for as well.

8. Favorite Designer: I love so many but...Chanel would have to be my number 1. Their clothes have been iconic since Gabrielle Coco Chanel. They have such simple pieces but they scream elegance. I love their quilted bags especially the tote (I'm obsessed with large bags) and their oversize sunglasses... perfect! My second favorite would probably be Marc Jacobs but since I can only pick one...

9. Favorite Magazine: SEVENTEEN!!! I am completely in love with this magazine. Every month they get better and better. I'm practically jumping up and down when it comes in the mail when it comes in the mail because I know that whoever is on the cover will be awesome and their fashion spreads never let me down. This is the magazine I really want to work for some day. Of course any magazine would be amazing but working for Seventeen would be a dream come true!

10. Favorite TV show: What true fashionista wouldn't say...Gossip Girl. From the very first "you know you love me," I've been hooked. Every episode got a little bit juicier and a little more obssession worthy. By the season finale it had officially become my guilty pleasure. Even now I'm dreaming of the day when my Tivo will once again be filled with GG episodes, sigh. Until then I will just have to settle for reruns and pics of course!

So what do you think, do you like my favorite things? Are any of these your favorites? If not,
what are some of your favorite things? Until next time...
